More Medical News

Had my eye check up with the opthalmologist today--way overdue--had not been since 2003. Prescription is about the same, a tweak to the bifocals.

But dry eyes are worse. I agreed to let him insert a lacrimal plug (or punctal plug) in the left (driest) eyelid. The plug keeps tears from draining out so they stay in your eyes longer. If the left one works, I'll go back and get the right one done.

Sick Day

Diagnosis: After a 2 hour wait in the waiting room to get worked in this morning, it took the doc less than 3 minutes to tell me I have a middle ear infection in my right ear and an inflamed throat (not strep, but pharyngitis).

At least the wait at the pharmacy was not too long.

This is only the second time I have ever taken sick leave that was not related to surgery. And most of the surgical recovery was done during break times, so no sick leave was required.

Spring-time Crud

Spring has sprung. Azaleas and dogwoods are blooming. Yellow-green pine pollen covers everything. And I have some sort of upper respiratory crud. Could be strep; one of the staff at the child care center had it last week. All I want to do is sleep.

I missed Day Care Sunday at First Baptist Church today. I had been invited by my former boss to attend. I will have to check with my friend Jeannine who did go, and see what I missed.

Birthday Party at the Playground!

Today was the birthday celebration at Paper Playground.

We had cake and lots of fun, especially the shopping. Pictured (from left) are Beth, Kathie (store owner), Sandi, me and Rebecca.

I hate the time change

I do not do well with the switch to daylight-saving time. I am dragging today. However that may be partly due to the fact that Neely threw up at 3:08 this morning.

I should be exhausted by the time I finish with class this evening at 8:50.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Her birthday was actually Thursday the 8th but the family dinner celebration is always on a Sunday near the birthday date.

As is the family custom, mom chose the menu and type of cake. I prepared BBQ chicken in the oven, corn, broccoli soup (from scratch, not from a can), chicken & rice, green beans, and rolls. The cake was lemon.


I bought some tulips for the table; they were lovely in the vase Aunt Brenda gave mom for her gift along with a beach tote. Aunt Brenda and Uncle Buddy treated mom to breakfast on Thursday; Uncle Buddy gave mom a fish scaler. He's ready for them to go to the beach again to fish!

I Scrapped at Home!

ARGH!

I ordered some furniture from JC Penney. It was delivered today. 2 of the 3 pieces are going back!

The storage ottoman was not the color nor the fabric I ordered. The chair was damaged in delivery. I swear the guy bounced it out of the back of the truck. He broke the wooden frame.

Customer Service had no problem with the returns. They ordered the replacements and I borrowed my dad's truck to take the ottoman to the store for credit. It will be 2 weeks + before the replacements arrive; they'll swap out the chair then. I need to unwrap and carefully examine the sofa to make sure it is okay.
