Insulin Injections
Neely's bloodwork showed a blood glucose lever of over 400, about 4.5 times what it should be.
We went to the vet today to learn how to administer the insulin for Neely's diabetes. The vet said we got the prize for being fast learners. Neely did very well and I only needed one practice injection with sterile water before I tried it with the insulin. Neely gets 1.5 units twice a day, and her kibble a half hour later. We will need to move suppertime up some or breakfast back so they are pretty close to 12 hours apart.
Neely had lost weight; she weighed 12 pounds 11 ounces, but this is not the diet plan I would recommend.
